Baffin Bay’s finest cold-ocean bounty

Greenland Halibut

Baffin Seafood’s MSC certified, premium, wild, cold water Greenland Halibut – also known as Turbot – is renowned for its tender, flaky, delicate white flesh.

Greenland Halibut are abundant in the deep coastal bays of east Baffin Island and on the Baffin continental shelf. Baffin Fisheries’ Greenland Halibut are frozen to -25°C in one of four plate freezers on vessels operating in the Davis Strait and Baffin Bay, before being packaged on-site by Baffin Seafood and distributed for sale around the world.

Full of freshness and flavour, Greenland Halibut is considered one of the world’s finest gourmet fish. Hugely popular for sushi and sashimi, it is also sumptuous when baked, poached, grilled, sautéed, or steamed. A mild olive- or lemon-based spice really brings out the flavour.

An excellent source of high-quality protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals, commercially caught Greenland Halibut ranges in size from 0.5 kg to 10 kg.

Cold Water Shrimp

Baffin Seafood’s MSC certified, premium, wild, cold water Shrimp are renowned for their unique flavour, tantalizing texture, and satisfyingly sweet aftertaste.

Cold water Shrimp are abundant in the open waters of the Davis Strait, off the shore of Baffin Island in Canada’s Arctic. Baffin Fisheries harvests two species of cold water Shrimp – the Northern Pink Shrimp (Pandalus borealis) and the Striped Shrimp (Pandalus montagui) – which are then boiled on-site in pure, natural seawater to retain maximum flavour, and packaged by Baffin Seafood for export around the world.

Bursting with freshness and flavour, Wild Arctic Shrimp are considered to be among the world’s finest. The meat is firm, moist, and crisp — a sought-after combination rarely found among other shrimp species, perfect for salads, soups, rice dishes, omelets, and pasta dishes.

An excellent source of high-quality protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals, our Wild Arctic Shrimp average 5-10 cm in length. Red when raw, their shells turn perfectly pink once cooked.
